DRIVER  ISSUES AND RISEN3D

NVIDIA VISTA32

There appears to be performance issues with R3D and certain nVidia Vista 32 drivers, I had noticed that frame rates were clobbered by as much 50 fps using some of the Forceware 160 series Vista drivers. Installing the  Forceware 175.16 Vista driver fixed the problem, so just be aware that experimenting with graphics card drivers can be beneficial regardless of what games you are running.

CATALYST

There appears to be performance issues with R3D using the latest Catalyst drivers, drivers prior to the version 7.12 release appear to be OK.

Special thanks goes to Erick Rodríguez for pointing this problem out, his extensive testing has shown that disabling the Catalyst AI in Vista appears to fix the problem but has little if any effect in XP.

The symptoms are jerkiness in what appears to be a driver caching problem, none of the Risen3D team use Radeon cards so the problem remains a mystery.
