RISEN3D QUICK LAUNCH README

R3DQlaunch has been created by Willem Sitters ...

For the quick and hassle free use of the Risen3D Doom port.

THE IWAD LISTBOX

On initial run the launcher searches for Iwads in the Environment Variables
If the launcher cannot locate any Iwads you are prompted to add an Iwad.

The IWAD listbox contains all available Iwads located on your PC.
If the Pwad was created with for example, the Iwad Plutonia - select Plutonia.

THE GAME FOLDER LISTBOX

Here you can select the game folder that contains the Pwad.
The launcher automatically shows the wad file(s) with their associated maps.
Now you can select the wad and the map you wish to play.

Click the play button to play your level.

RISEN3D PARAMETERS

Here are some R3D switches which can be placed in R3d parameters.
For more switches  read the R3D_Docs\Help\R3D_Cmdline.txt

-jdrp
This enables the jDoom alpha replacement pack models if installed.

-xa
Play without models but retain Risen3D's core effects.

-fx
Enable extra particle effects ( smoking flames ).

-amwds
Allow models with duplicate sprites ( can't be used on dehacked sprites ).

-sky240
This can be used to give a zdoom type sky, reducing the overhead " sky hole ".
May look better on some maps, worse on others.

-mfo
Doom2.exe tag 667 function ( rarely used, don't use with Boom maps ).

GL AND NORMAL NODES

If a pwad refuses to build the GL nodes, such as giving an Input/Output  error,
select the ' Normal and GL nodes ' option and restart your map.

This very rarely needs to be done however, the cchest2.wad is one exception.

Note: This is a temporary option and is deselected after each launch.

ENVIRONMENT VARIABLES

Use DOOMWADDIR to set your Iwads path as an Environment Variable.

For Win2K, XP or other NT platforms
Open My Computer/Properties/Advanced/Environment Variables and add the following
- Variable DOOMWADDIR Value C:\IWADS

For Win98 and ME edit your autoexec.bat - SET DOOMWADDIR=C:\IWADS

The above examples assume your Iwads were located in the C:\IWADS Directory.
